Surprise Party
For Bert Morris
"A Time of Apprection"
Well all I can say is Bert was
sure "SURPRISED" on Friday November 26th 2004. at 6.00 pm at the Church.
It was a very special evening of
celebration with Bert Morris who has dedicated his whole life of hard work
and faithfulness to GOD and the Salvation Army. The scripture chosen for
this evening will be from Galatians 5:22 which depicts all the
requirements for leadership and life, But the Fruit of the Spirit is Love,
Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and
self control. Against things there is no law.
The truth from His Holy Word reveals gifts of the Holy Spirit that is
essential elements in developing leadership. With the guidance of the Holy
Spirit all of these spiritual qualities are rebuilt and remolded within
us, so that with full obedience to GOD we will use and apply these special
qualities to all things God has created and strived with every once
of strength to succeed with the opportunities we are given by our Lord
Jesus Christ as leaders of His Church.
Love Joy and Peace, From time to time I have know Bert, I know his love
and joy of teaching music to children and young people has been his life
long passion, I neglected to mention the peace part of the fruits as many
parents here this evening know the number of peaceful moments there are
raising young children. many times Bert would be encircled by numerous
children, but I'm sure that in his times of refection, he has experienced
peace in his heart by witnessing the fruit bearing trees from thousands of
seeds he has planted in his life and continues to do so.
Philippians 4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or
seen in me, put it into practice and the GOD of peace will be with you.
