Community Resource Fair 2005

On Saturday October 1st at The Wiarton Salvation Army a harvest of resources came together in what has been decided unanimously to be an annual event. The day held the promise of joining of hearts, visions and resources and excitement filled the air. The event was sponsored by the Wiarton area churches and all those in attendance were blessed by Dr. John Van Dorp’s presentation. Doctor Van Dorp opened with the scripture from Romans 12: 4-8 regarding the body working together as a whole and the importance of all the parts.   Dr. Van Dorp spoke on crisis in local families and what can be done to promote change, and encouraging people to seek help, because as the event demonstrated help is indeed “available”.

As with any new venture the attendance was not astronomical, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of all those joined together broadening their separate visions into “one” that truly can bring Streams into the Wasteland. The idea of such a fair was to bring awareness to people of the services and resources available in our area. We live in a truly blessed area and the mission is to bring people together with the help they need.

The format of the day included video presentations, resource displays, one on one communication and literature made available by many of the participants. With a call to join arms and passions, all will be eagerly looking forward to next years event. Below are a few pictures, Kevin Shot.
